Celebrations of mothers and motherhood can be traced back to the ancient Greeks and Romans, who held festivals in honor of the mother goddesses Rhea and Cybele. The American incarnation of Mother’s Day was created by Anna Jarvis in 1908 and became an official U.S. holiday in 1914.
From birth our mothers have nurtured and given unconditional love to us. While most women are mothers to their own children, other women have been mothers to those in need. Each mother giving time and love to nourish the life of another. It’s great to have a day where we can unite and celebrate mothers all over.
Show your mother you care by celebrating with us and stop by our garden center for a gift that reminds them of the beauty and love of each moment shared together.
